A UAE Credit Report from Etihad Credit Bureau is a summary of a person’s credit-related information. It includes the Credit Score, credit contracts, payment history, financial obligations and bills, last reported salary, Income Utilisation Ratio and certain court obligations. The official consumer report shows payment history for the past 36 months on credit facilities and services.
Who provides the UAE Credit Report?
Etihad Credit Bureau is the UAE’s federal credit-information company. It receives information from participating banks, finance companies, telecom and utility providers, courts and government entities, then compiles that information into credit reports and related credit-information products.
What can appear in a Credit Report?
- Personal information.
- Credit Score.
- Income Utilisation Ratio.
- Payment history for loans, cards and relevant bills.
- Credit contracts, including loans and credit cards.
- Financial obligations and bills.
- Last reported salary.
- Certain court-ordered financial obligations.
- History of bounced cheques where applicable.
The exact content depends on the information reported for that individual. Not every possible field will necessarily contain data for every consumer.
How far back does payment history go?
Etihad Credit Bureau states that its individual Credit Report covers a three-year payment history for each active or closed credit facility and service, as well as the history for bounced cheques. The report therefore gives more context than a single point-in-time balance.
Credit Report vs Credit Score
| Credit Report | Credit Score |
|---|---|
| Detailed record of credit-related information | Numerical representation of creditworthiness |
| Shows contracts, payment history and obligations | Summarises risk using bureau data and scoring methodology |
| Used to review the underlying information | Used as one indicator in credit assessment |
How do banks use a Credit Report?
Banks and finance companies can use credit information as part of assessing affordability, solvency and past repayment behaviour. A Credit Report does not itself approve or reject an application. Each lender applies its own underwriting, affordability, product and eligibility criteria alongside applicable regulatory requirements.
How can you get your report?
Consumers can obtain their Credit Report through Etihad Credit Bureau’s official channels. The official website currently displays the available consumer product and price. Because pricing and access methods can change, FinShark should link to the Bureau rather than hard-code purchase instructions into evergreen glossary copy.
What if information is wrong?
Etihad Credit Bureau provides a Data Correction service. If you find inaccurate information, the Bureau can contact the relevant information provider. Where inaccuracies relate to different providers, separate correction requests may be required. FinShark cannot amend or correct a consumer’s credit record.
How is a Credit Report relevant to credit cards and loans?
When you apply for a credit product, the lender may review existing facilities, repayment behaviour and financial obligations to assess whether additional credit is appropriate. CBUAE requirements also place responsibility on lenders to assess a customer’s ability to meet obligations rather than treating one score or ratio as the sole decision factor.
